Weather is bright, dry and not too cold, so we decide to take the Campervan out for it's first spin of the year.
It has been our little ritual to do this on New Years day. A silly form of superstition, that if we started the year doing this, we would continue for the whole year. But, this year New Years day arrived with a thick layer of snow.
Van started no problem, and we took it to Broompark, near Durham, had ourselves a little walk in the sunshine and back home for Sunday Lunch, before going to visit brother-in-law Anthony in hospital. Despite the fact that he is awaiting heart surgery, he seems in good spirits.
It would appear that brother-in-law Phil is recovering nicely from the operation on his hand, so our weekly walking outings may restart on Wednesday, weather permitting, watch this space.
